Police Opens Fire At 12-year-old Boy with BB Toy Gun in Playground (update: The Boy Is Dead) – YouTube

Is this somewhat and somehow telling?

Why does Ed Tomba, Deputy Chief,
at the end of the video,
refer to Tamir E. Rice, a 12 year-old boy,
as "the young man"?

Is this somewhat and somehow telling?

Is it some weirdchit to what extent,
this police department will go to express,
their lack of compassion in portraying a child,
as less than a child, or inference as less, than human?
A child who is not even yet a teenager,
is referred to as "the young man".

A RIOT IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE UNHEARD

"A RIOT IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE UNHEARD" – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Can we look at each other as all members of the human race? And in so doing, are we able to empathize with people who may feel, 'a system can not fail those it was never meant to protect', to better understand how they are then more likely to wonder, "does it take 100 days to decide if a shooting is a crime or to figure out how to tell people it isn't?"

If we are more outraged at poor black folks in Missouri looting stores than rich whites on Wall Street looting our future, we have been duped.

Are we perhaps somehow being fooled and distracted from the real tomfoolery?

Posted by Frank Bernard on November 23, 2014 in Uncategorizedchit |

Should we have all members of congress, top bank and oil executives and other corporate CEOs who receive government sponsored assistance to also have to take a drug test?

Why do we not see any news stories about these other folks taking drug tests but only do about individuals on welfare?

Especially when we've not seen one of them get filthy rich off of "guvmnt" handouts, but we see all the time top bank and oil executives,CEOs and politicians get filthy rich off of government subsidies and corporate welfare?

Are we perhaps somehow being fooled and distracted from the real tomfoolery and welfare queens?

Warren Torches GOP On Economy: We Tried It, It Was ‘Nearly Catastrophic’

Posted by Frank Bernard on November 20, 2014 in Income Distributionchit, Politicalchit, Wealth Gap in the USAchit |

To my Republican and Democratic friends, after reading this pray tell how one can disagree with her?

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) went straight after Republicans, blasting the GOP on deregulation and trickle down economics during a Center for American Progress event on Wednesday.

"The Republicans have a pretty simple philosophy: they say if those at the top have more — more power for Wall Street players to do whatever they want and more money for tax cuts than somehow they can be counted on to build the economy for everyone else," Warren said. "Well, we tried it for 30 years and it didn’t work. In fact the consequences were nearly catastrophic."

Warren did allude to the 2014 elections where Republicans replaced Democrats not only in key Senate races but governors mansions and statehouses, but she stressed that didn't mean Republican calls for deregulation should be taken seriously now.

Warren also reused her regularly repeated line that the American economy is "rigged" in favor of the wealthy.

"We tested the Republican ideas and they failed, they failed spectacularly. There’s no denying that fact," Warren said. "We know the importance of accountability on Wall Street —the benefits of having a better educated work force. The advantages that come from investments of high speed rail and medical research."

The senator from Massachusetts, near the end, interestingly, did also seem to suggest there should be some introspection in the Democratic party.

"People across this country get it. Sure, there’s a lot of work to be done and there’s a long way to go before Democrats can reclaim the right to say that we’re fighting for America’s working people, that we’re fighting to build a future not just for some of our children but for all of our children," Warren said. "No, we’re not there yet but don’t forget the good news. Our agenda is America’s agenda."

Organized Labor, Public Banks and the Grassroots: Keys to a Worker-Owned Economy | Occupy.com

Worker-owned cooperatives build economic democracy, but how do we build more worker-owned cooperatives? Here are three valuable allies to help us get there.

Before his death in February, Jackson Mississippi Mayor Chokwe Lumumba was helping his constituents chart an economic plan whose main component was worker-owned cooperatives. In her recent article about Lumumba and cooperatives, Laura Flanders cites Collective Courage author Jessica Gordon Nembhard’s point that African-American leaders from Marcus Garvey to W.E.B. DuBois were proponents of cooperatives. DuBois, Garvey and Lumumba understood that worker democracy was necessary for economic sovereignty and community solidarity.

Why Hot Water Freezes Faster Than Cold—Physicists Solve the Mpemba Effect

Aristotle first noticed that hot water freezes faster than cold water but chemists have always struggled to explain the paradox. Until now

Water may be one of the most abundant compounds on Earth, but it is also one of more mysterious. For example, like most liquids it becomes denser as it cools. But unlike them, it reaches a state of maximum density at 4°C and then becomes less dense before it freezes.

“Earth From Space” is a groundbreaking two-hour special that reveals a spectacular new space-based vision of our planet. Produced in extensive consultation with NASA scientists, NOVA takes data from earth-observing satellites and transforms it into dazzling visual sequences, each one exposing the intricate and surprising web of forces that sustains life on earth. Viewers witness how dust blown from the Sahara fertilizes the Amazon; how a vast submarine “waterfall” off Antarctica helps drive ocean currents around the world; and how the sun’s heating up of the southern Atlantic gives birth to a colossally powerful hurricane. From the microscopic world of water molecules vaporizing over the ocean to the magnetic field that is bigger than Earth itself, the show reveals the astonishing beauty and complexity of our dynamic planet.
