Ex-POTUS Shots

Which to you is of more concern, what the ex-POTUS’ followers will accept, believe and support, or what he thinks he can get away with saying and doing?

What would the GOP have done if Obama or a Clinton had been proven to…

1. Have told thousands of lies, had numerous political and legal cronies end up in jail

2. Admit to defrauding a charity or pardoned military prisoners of war crimes

3. Paid off a mistress and had another personal lawyer and two of his cronies try to leave the country

4. Order administration staff to not cooperate with subpoenas

5. Set up a scenario in a foreign country whereby they would attempt to bribe that country into defaming political rivals while openly intimidating potential witnesses for the prosecution before, during and after their testimony.

Is this the definition of a living wage?

Jeff Kurtz‎Human Reform Politics

Unless we are born without a conscience and are driven by self-serving, negligent sociopathic compulsions, it is impossible to lack virtue and be truly happy. It was Aristotle who first explained that we must have balance in our lives—to achieve a “Golden Mean” between deficiency and excess—in order to be truly virtuous and happy. According to Aristotle, deficient or excessive attitudes and behaviors lead to vice, while having the mindfulness and discipline to engage with moderation between the extremes leads to virtue. This model can be used to assess the vices and virtues which relate to our beliefs and attitudes toward earning an income and how this translates to our consumer behaviors.

BEHAVIOR: EARNING AN INCOME & CONSUMERISM

THE VICE OF DEFICIENCY: AUSTERITY

The vice that leads to deficiency is Austerity caused by Self-Negligence. It is possible to care so much about others that we neglect our own well-being and cause harm to ourselves. This principle is clearly expressed every time a flight attendant tells us to place the oxygen mask on our own faces first before helping others during emergencies.

THE VICE OF EXCESSIVENESS: OVERCONSUMPTION

The vice that leads to excessiveness is Overconsumption, Overindulgence and Extravagance caused by Self-Absorption. When we are concerned only about our own happiness, we become consumed by an insatiable need for self-gratification. We become conditioned to acquire the “next big thing” that will make us happy, not realizing that we have become slaves to an unhealthy habit that diminishes purpose and meaning in life.

THE VIRTUE OF THE MEAN: SUFFICIENCY

The Golden Mean between these two vices that leads to virtue is Sufficiency caused by Caring, Mindfulness and Discipline. As we have seen, the extremes in our attitudes and behaviors toward earning an income and consumer behaviors leads to unhealthy results. The healthy alternative is knowing what is enough to meet our needs for survival and provide reasonable comforts and conveniences while choosing not to pamper ourselves with unnecessary luxuries. Once we reach a level of financial security that relieves fear for our livelihoods now and in the future, we can turn our attention toward activities that enable others to flourish. The top tier of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is not self-actualization, but transcendence. From a purely human perspective, transcendence can be described as our desire and effort to help others become self-actualized—to discover their purpose in life and empower them to realize their full potentials and make positive contributions in the world.

Virg Boehland Do you think the most recent Republican Tax Cut Plan (2017) that was, arguably, the most important piece of legislation so far from the Republican Administration was fair. 100% of the permanent tax cuts for that Republican Tax Cut Plan went to multinational corporation/the top .1 % of the wealthiest of the wealthy in America. while middle class tax payers/average tax payers/the 99+% of American tax payers was 100% temporary. Not that long ago, multinational corporations paid for over 33% of our Annual U.S. Federal Budget. Today, thanks in large part to the 18%, across the board permanent tax cuts, multinational corporations are now paying for less than 7% of the Annual U.S. Federal Budget. (see the trend below). Who do you think is paying for the permanent tax cuts for the very, very few? You would be right if, in addition to you, you included your children and grandchildren as the costs (trillions of dollars) were simply just added to the U.S. National Debt!

No photo description available.

Steven Lane William Symons and John James is Virg Boehland‘s premise correct? Is this a transfer of trillions of wealth to you, your children and grandchildren, or from to those who already have enormous wealth? And we and do we really fancifully believe the .01% will spend it better than what the government would?

BTW, are either of you in the 1%, or are you just wannabes, or thinkyoubees someday?

So we think charging up national debt and having someone else pay for it is a pretty good gig, if you can get it, eh?

Steven Lane Alan Marley Do you have a clue as to who was Adam Smith? “It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.” ― Adam Smith

Steven Lane Alan Marley I’ve been fortunate and done well too but I guess the difference between us is that I want others to do well too.

Steven Lane Jeff Rosenberg Have you ever lived under anything other than trickle-down, supply-side economic theory or read much about the technologies of the 3rd and 4th Industrial revolutions that are upon us and will lead the business world in being regenerative and ecopositive? Or is all that just, “grandiose delusions”?

John James Steven Lane, so are you bridging that it’s okay to have a positive relationship with Russia today, just as it was back in the 1940s?

  •

Steven Lane I’d bridge it was perhaps better in the 80s after they tore down that wall. I don’t have a problem with the Russian people. It is Putin, much like Rasputin, that is poisonous, kinda like treason, literally, if not indirectly, in so many ways than just metaphorically.

The Great Wall of Distraction

Posted by Frank Bernard on January 10, 2019 in Uncategorizedchit |
So why is it now such an emergency and crisis to build a wall, and why is the US going to remove sanctions against the billionaire Russian oligarch Oleg V. Deripaska? Certainly this wouldn’t be any kind of wag-the-dog distraction from what the Mueller and SDNY investigations are filing in court, or in anyway, shape or form being used to slowdown government proceedings to investigate and indict, not impeach, a sitting president.

January 2017 – GOP majority
January 2017 Wall not an emergency
February 2017 Wall not an emergency
March 2017 Wall not an emergency
April 2017 Wall not an emergency
May 2017 Wall not an emergency

July 2017 Wall not an emergency
August 2017 Wall not an emergency
September 2017 Wall not an emergency
October 2017 Wall not an emergency
November 2017 Wall not an emergency

October 2018 Wall not an emergency
November 2018 Wall not an emergency

January 2019 EMERGENCY!!!

And, we now know all of the following has been proven in court filings:

– We have Trump’s campaign manager sharing valuable and proprietary campaign data with a Russian intelligence operative.
– We have a Russian organization, Concord Management (referred to as the Russian Troll Farm), using that data to spread disinformation and propaganda on social media.
– We have Trump publicly asking Russia to hack his opponents email and then two days later, Russian hacking operations began, stealing the competition’s (the DNC’s and the Clinton campaign’s) data.
– We have Don Trump Junior accepting a meeting with Russian officials, in Trump Towers, after they offered this hacked ‘dirt’ and two people from that meeting have been indicted — one American and one Russian.
– We have Trump concurrently negotiating a Trump Towers Moscow, offering the Russian President the $50 million penthouse, agreeing to lift Russian sanctions and change RNC platform language in favor of Russia.
– We have an indicted Russian spy, using the NRA to funnel money and influence, to Congressional Republicans.
– We have almost two dozen Trump officials lying about follow-up contacts with Russia.
– We have Trump firing the FBI Director, the Acting FBI Director, the SDNY AG and the Acting DOJ, for investigating him and the DOJ for recusing himself from protecting Trump from these investigations.

Are we missing anything?

What Is a Living Wage Today?

Striking Memphis Sanitation workers in 1968 were making between $1.60 to $1.90 per hour. $1.90 per hour would be equivalent to $13.98 per hour in 2018. They were striking due to low and unequal wages and working conditions. While in Memphis in support of the workers, MLK was killed April 4, 1968. So what is a living wage today?

Reply to Jerry’s comment, “Kind of shocked at no response from, “yours truly”, but now I’m sure I’ll get several links lol”

Lol Okay I’ll go for the bait…so you guys still think I’m a fan of spineless neolib Democrats? That’s about as bright as thinking I’m a fan of neocon Republicans.

Or, thinking a billionaire cabinet will change the system that made them billionaires. Where losses are socialized, profits privatized, and the American populace continues to lose when divided along the lines of lib, con, rep, dem, black, white, yada, yada, yada…

Only when the Tea Partier and Occupy Wall Streeter meet to find common ground will things change. For they have much more in common than what divides them.

Yes, I could provide Jerry with plenty of links to back up my BS but it seems he prefers to be spoon-fed the BS of faux news, to reading, learning and deciding on his own.

Like the preacher saying we have to believe what the bible says, then tells us what the bible says. But if we think on our own, search and disagree, we will surely be a lesser human being, and surely go to hell.

And Jim, always the darling who’s never met a Dreamer or much less could fathom, how someone who spent their entire life in the US as an “illegal” would be more the truer American Patriot than he is. As if he has a clue as to what is – E Pluribus Unum.

Or, that giving Dreamers a way to stay, could not only be good for our country, but also would be an act of being – a decent human being.

Since your media bubble and messianic tweeting leader benefits and thrives on your distraction, I’ll leave you with one more diversion.

Government shutdown? Yes, but he is a Great Negotiator! After all, he negotiated a $130,000 deal with a porn star. And is a consummate grifter, and master baiter, who’s sole purpose is to jerk-off minds – and yes, he does know his mark, the sensationalist media laps it up.

He’s the “classiest” classist first, a racist second, playing the race and class cards to his classic advantage. Does he disavow with protestation or obfuscation?

The point’s not actual refutation, but confusion, deny-ability and plausible implausibility, to the point that shouldn’t we ask, “Really? What is the probability of his honesty, or much less, sincerity?”

Perhaps we should all read a book, and start with 1984.

Does Jerry approve of this link, and gluten-free reply? You guys crack me up and most always provide some weird chit food to fodder that can be posted on weirdchit.com.

Is the feeling mutual? Cause, “we just wants to be loved”, eh?

Bullchit Budgets

Looks like it's deja vu all over gain…

45's talking about tax cuts bigger than Reagan. Anybody remember Reagan's tax cuts? Reagan cut taxes across the board around 25%. But the deficit started exploding, so Reagan then raised taxes 11 times. But Reagan transferred the tax burden from the rich to the working man. Notice in the chart when America's wealth inequality started exploding? Wealth inequality isn't good for America. It's also good to know Ronald Reagan added $1.86 trillion to the debt, 186 percent increase in the $998 billion debt level at the end of Carter's last budget, FY 1981. That's a bullchit budget that is the largest percent debt increase of any president since Reagan

Both times the top marginal U.S. income tax rate was reduced below 50%, financial services regulations were relaxed beyond what was prudent. Together, those two policy matters were likely key contributors to the surges in U.S. income inequality and the closely associated 1929 Great Recession and the 2008 Great Recession (paraphrased from pg. 36-37, Rebooting the American Dream, Thom Hartman, 2010).

Alanah Pearce Is Contacting Moms Of Boys Who Threaten Rape

With all due respect to Explosions In the Sky,
the Earth can be a cold, dead place, especially on Twitter.
Where receiving rape threats is a too-common part,
of too many women’s lives.

Alanah Pearce, a game reviewer from Australia,
got tired of seeing “young boys”,
tweeting the terrible things they were going to do to her.
So she did something about it: she contacted their moms.
