What would the GOP have done if Obama or a Clinton had been proven to…
1. Have told thousands of lies, had numerous political and legal cronies end up in jail
2. Admit to defrauding a charity or pardoned military prisoners of war crimes
3. Paid off a mistress and had another personal lawyer and two of his cronies try to leave the country
4. Order administration staff to not cooperate with subpoenas
5. Set up a scenario in a foreign country whereby they would attempt to bribe that country into defaming political rivals while openly intimidating potential witnesses for the prosecution before, during and after their testimony.

Is this the definition of a living wage?
Jeff Kurtz‎Human Reform Politics
Unless we are born without a conscience and are driven by self-serving, negligent sociopathic compulsions, it is impossible to lack virtue and be truly happy. It was Aristotle who first explained that we must have balance in our lives—to achieve a “Golden Mean†between deficiency and excess—in order to be truly virtuous and happy. According to Aristotle, deficient or excessive attitudes and behaviors lead to vice, while having the mindfulness and discipline to engage with moderation between the extremes leads to virtue. This model can be used to assess the vices and virtues which relate to our beliefs and attitudes toward earning an income and how this translates to our consumer behaviors.
BEHAVIOR: EARNING AN INCOME & CONSUMERISM
THE VICE OF DEFICIENCY: AUSTERITY
The vice that leads to deficiency is Austerity caused by Self-Negligence. It is possible to care so much about others that we neglect our own well-being and cause harm to ourselves. This principle is clearly expressed every time a flight attendant tells us to place the oxygen mask on our own faces first before helping others during emergencies.
THE VICE OF EXCESSIVENESS: OVERCONSUMPTION
The vice that leads to excessiveness is Overconsumption, Overindulgence and Extravagance caused by Self-Absorption. When we are concerned only about our own happiness, we become consumed by an insatiable need for self-gratification. We become conditioned to acquire the “next big thing†that will make us happy, not realizing that we have become slaves to an unhealthy habit that diminishes purpose and meaning in life.
THE VIRTUE OF THE MEAN: SUFFICIENCY
The Golden Mean between these two vices that leads to virtue is Sufficiency caused by Caring, Mindfulness and Discipline. As we have seen, the extremes in our attitudes and behaviors toward earning an income and consumer behaviors leads to unhealthy results. The healthy alternative is knowing what is enough to meet our needs for survival and provide reasonable comforts and conveniences while choosing not to pamper ourselves with unnecessary luxuries. Once we reach a level of financial security that relieves fear for our livelihoods now and in the future, we can turn our attention toward activities that enable others to flourish. The top tier of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is not self-actualization, but transcendence. From a purely human perspective, transcendence can be described as our desire and effort to help others become self-actualized—to discover their purpose in life and empower them to realize their full potentials and make positive contributions in the world.

Virg Boehland Do you think the most recent Republican Tax Cut Plan (2017) that was, arguably, the most important piece of legislation so far from the Republican Administration was fair. 100% of the permanent tax cuts for that Republican Tax Cut Plan went to multinational corporation/the top .1 % of the wealthiest of the wealthy in America. while middle class tax payers/average tax payers/the 99+% of American tax payers was 100% temporary. Not that long ago, multinational corporations paid for over 33% of our Annual U.S. Federal Budget. Today, thanks in large part to the 18%, across the board permanent tax cuts, multinational corporations are now paying for less than 7% of the Annual U.S. Federal Budget. (see the trend below). Who do you think is paying for the permanent tax cuts for the very, very few? You would be right if, in addition to you, you included your children and grandchildren as the costs (trillions of dollars) were simply just added to the U.S. National Debt!
Steven Lane William Symons and John James is Virg Boehland‘s premise correct? Is this a transfer of trillions of wealth to you, your children and grandchildren, or from to those who already have enormous wealth? And we and do we really fancifully believe the .01% will spend it better than what the government would?
BTW, are either of you in the 1%, or are you just wannabes, or thinkyoubees someday?
So we think charging up national debt and having someone else pay for it is a pretty good gig, if you can get it, eh?

Steven Lane Alan Marley Do you have a clue as to who was Adam Smith? “It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.†― Adam Smith
Steven Lane Alan Marley I’ve been fortunate and done well too but I guess the difference between us is that I want others to do well too.

Steven Lane Jeff Rosenberg Have you ever lived under anything other than trickle-down, supply-side economic theory or read much about the technologies of the 3rd and 4th Industrial revolutions that are upon us and will lead the business world in being regenerative and ecopositive? Or is all that just, “grandiose delusions”?

Can we bridge any human who needs more than $50 million a year when a wealth tax would lift millions out of poverty is being rather shortsighted, or would that be niggardly and penuriously sighted?
Does a person need more than $50 million a year when a wealth tax could help lift millions out of poverty?
is being rather shortsighted, or would that be niggardly and penuriously sighted?
Steven Lane Benjamin Mac Makes too much sense, eh? Socialist HA, HA, HA. LOL Was Adam Smith a socialist? “It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.†― Adam Smith

Steven Lane: Because I’m amused and it seems like a muse to inspire me to write and share more, and that…I’m not the only one. And perhaps I can even bring some levity of humor to bare an apolitical truth or two…and perhaps even as often as the average bear.

John James Steven Lane, so are you bridging that it’s okay to have a positive relationship with Russia today, just as it was back in the 1940s?
Steven Lane I’d bridge it was perhaps better in the 80s after they tore down that wall. I don’t have a problem with the Russian people. It is Putin, much like Rasputin, that is poisonous, kinda like treason, literally, if not indirectly, in so many ways than just metaphorically.
